Washington Survey and Ratings Bureau

Lopez Fire and EMS is graded by the Washington Survey and Ratings Bureau (WSRB). WSRB is an independent, not-for-profit, public service organization serving Washington State. The ratings are a 1 to 10 with 1 being the best rating and 10 being no coverage. Their purpose is to provide objective data on multiple risk factors that sets the fire rating for the island. Our most recent rating kept us at a level 7 in the village and an 8 in our non-hydrant or under hydranted areas. As part of Lopez fire and EMS commitment to improving services our strategic planning process over the past two years has been focused on improving this rating. We have accomplished many objectives including replacement of outdated firefighter bunker gear and fire hose but much more needs to be done.
